'Ice Palace' and Snow Village in Russia's Extreme North

Subscribe
Take a look at the 2,400 square kilometer-long "snow village" in a city in Russia's far north in Sputnik's gallery.

While there have been no major frosts in central Russia this year, the country's extreme north, which is located within the Arctic Circle, knows what real winter is and actually enjoys it. Since 2008, the city of Kirovsk in the Murmansk region located in Russia's extreme north celebrates the Near Year holidays by creating a fairytale ice palace and a snow village at the bottom of the Khibiny Mountains.
