It turns out that a little bit of know-how and a lot of effort can transform gloomy industrial areas into environment-friendly recreation spaces.

While there is definitely no shortage of polluted and abandoned industrial zones around the globe, it appears that these areas can actually be salvaged and revitalized, with barren landscapes being transformed into bustling recreation areas. This photo gallery contains a few examples of such transformations.
