Their Toiletries Explode: #SignsYoureMarriedToASpy Takes Twitter by Storm

For reasons unclear - perhaps general spy mania, perhaps simply to alleviate the tedium of a Monday afternoon - Twitter users have taken to an espionage-related hashtag like James Bond to a shaken not stirred Martini.

Users have used the opportunity to make a number of hilarious suggestions, with tweets including references to fictional spies old and new. Bond, James Bond, was inevitably rife, as were common tropes from onscreen and in-print spy culture, such as possibility-defying gadgets.

A jocular hashtag has got Twitter users abuzz — #SignsYoureMarriedToASpy.

Perhaps no hashtag craze could be complete without the appearance of cats in some form, and at least one user did not disappoint.

Other posts were more grounded — such as a reproduction of a guide produced by former CIA agent Lindsay Moran, on how to tell if someone is a spy.

Some posts were slightly more political — but only just. One post that circulated widely suggested having the surname Trump was a telltale sign one was married to a spy, accompanied by a gif of the First Lady.

It's not the first time Melania Trump has been the subject of social media speculation. In October, Twitter users claimed to have identified a Melania "double" in public appearances. While the initial post was perhaps serious, it quickly descended into mirth.
