House Republicans passed the tax bill yesterday with a 227 to 205 vote, largely on party lines, with no Democrats supporting the bill. The legislation would eliminate valuable deductions millions of working and middle class taxpayers rely upon. The tax cuts would benefit wealthy Americans and big corporations. The measure now moves to the Senate.

On this episode of "Fault Lines," hosts Garland Nixon and Lee Stranahan discuss the ramifications of the Trump Tax Plan which critics claim will substantially benefit Trump, his own family, and other billionaires and millionaires as well as large corporations. while hurting many poor, working class, and middle class Americans. Supporters of the measure claim this as a major victory for Trump and House leadership, and promise it will spur economic growth. Who is correct? Will the Senate pass the House version?

Garland and Lee will also discuss the widening Ethics Crisis sweeping through society as Senator Al Franken joins Roy Moore, Senator Robert Menendez, Trump. The Clintons, and others facing charges of wrongdoing. A lengthening list of government officials, media and entertainment personalities, business leaders, and others come under scrutiny for abusing power and influence. Has this been going on all along? What can and should be done about it?

The hosts and guests will analyze top news stories and issues including U.S. foreign policy; the coup in Zimbabwe; the mistrial in the Senator Robert Menendez trial; the latest mass shooting in California; the U.S. backed Saudi war on Yemen; the tax haven revelations known as "The Paradise Papers"; and other major news items.
