A British farmer has explained that the cryptic message, "Sue x" which was sprayed onto his field was a surprise message for his wife. However, the surprise was spoiled after the UK's National Police Air Service tweeted a picture of the field before Sue had a chance to see it.

Farmer Murray Graham says that he used leftover chemical weedkiller to create the message on a 60,000 square meter field at his farm in Thame, Oxfordshire. He had planned for his son, a helicopter pilot, to fly over the area and take a picture for his wife, Sue.
However, the police beat his son to it, and posted a photo of the field on the social network asking who Sue might be. The picture captured the imagination of twitterers, who made guesses as to why the message was there, some more accurate than others.

"Those aliens are getting ever more sophisticated!" one user wrote, while another asked, "You sure it's not an advert for a local law firm?"
After several appeals, the police tweeted that they had "managed to track down Sue," who wanted to remain anonymous.

Murray Graham came forward and explained that he made the gesture for his wife of 22 years because he can sometimes be "grumpy" wanted to show her that "I'm not as bad as I make out and I do love her really" he told The Telegraph.
