Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with Chatham House think tank spoke about the future of the possible Iranian nuclear weapons acquisition, in the wake of the newly-expanded anti-Iranian sanctions.

"I think there is a great danger for the world from "rogue regimes" … So far the greatest danger to the peace in the world posses a militant Islamic regime that meets nuclear weapons or, conversely, nuclear weapons meet militant Islamic regime," Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said in a conversation with the Chatham House think tank.

He pointed out that the Iranian nuclear threat urged Israel to actively cooperate with moderate Sunni states.

US Not Withdrawing From Iran Nuclear Deal, But Trump Hasn't Dropped the Issue
Moreover, Netanyahu noted that the main goal of the international community should be to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, not fulfilling the Iranian nuclear deal.

He added that Russia was also not interested in turning Iran into a nuclear power despite the level of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.

Progress in solving the years-long Iranian nuclear issue was achieved in July 2015, when the European Union, Iran and the P5+1 group of nations comprising the United States, Russia, China, France and the United Kingdom plus Germany signed so-called nuclear deal that stipulated a gradual lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran in exchange for guarantees of peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program.
