A 54-year-old artisan from Vicenza returned home after 8 p.m. and discovered that his flat had been looted, wrote local newspaper Il Gazzettino. Having entered through a window on the first floor, thieves emptied a safe with family jewels and stole a weapon storage cabinet with seven hunting rifles.
Angry and desperate, the man looked around for his wife to figure out something about the burglary but she wasn't at home, so he went to a neighbor, hoping he had seen or heard something. But what he found there was… his unfaithful spouse in the neighbor's bed.
By that time the police had arrived at the scene to investigate the theft and resolve the escalating conflict between the two men. The cabinet with the stolen guns was found the next day abandoned outside the city.
