Blue, White, and Red in the Face: WATCH Protester Throw Russian Flags at Trump

A protester accused US President Donald Trump of “conspiring with agents of the Russian government” and tossed a fistful of Russian flags at him on Tuesday as Trump entered the Capitol Building for a meeting with Republican lawmakers.

"Trump is treason! Trump is treason! Trump is treason!" the protester hollered as the president walked by, throwing Russian flags at Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). An unfazed Trump glanced at the protester, gave him a thumbs up, and kept walking.

"Why are you talking about tax cuts when you should be talking about treason? Why is Congress talking about tax cuts when they should be talking about treason?" the protester yelled as Capitol police swarmed him. "This president conspired with agents of the Russian government to skew an election. We should be talking about treason, not about tax cuts!"

Trump was on Capitol Hill for a weekly policy lunch with Republican policymakers, and the expected topic of conversation was the comprehensive tax overhaul bill that the GOP has been cooking up in recent weeks.

The protester identified himself when asked as Ryan Clayton from Americans Take Action, an organization that describes itself as a "network of populists" who claim that "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are under attack with Trump in the White House. We must impeach Trump to save democracy in America." Their three main goals are to "restore free and fair elections," to "create a purpose-driven economy" and to "resist any and all threats to a free and open internet."

​Clayton first gained notoriety for a prank he helped pull at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February. He handed out roughly 1,000 red, white and blue flags emblazoned with the word "TRUMP" in gold. CPAC attendees waved the flags before staffers, realizing they were Russian flags, quickly confiscated them.

Clayton is also believed to be the one who handed a Russian flag to Trump's senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner when he appeared before the Senate Intelligence Committee in July.
