A driver from Montreal unexpectedly became the object of a car chase that ended with a hefty $149 fine, according to CTV report.

The driver, Taoufik Moalla, was driving merrily along while singing C+C Music Factory's 1990 hit "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" — even if you don't recognize the name, believe us, you've heard it — when he said he noticed police sirens.
"I was thinking they wanted to pass, but they called on the speaker, ‘Please go to the right side,'" Moalla told CTV Montreal. "I stopped and four police came, two on each side, and checked the inside of the car. Then they asked me if I screamed. I said, ‘No, I was just singing.'"
"I don't know if my voice was very bad and that's why I got the ticket, but I was very shocked," Moalla said.
"I would never have expected they'd give me a ticket for that," he said, noting that he thought the police would inspect his car for a body, weapons or something of that nature.
According to the report, the nonplussed Moalla politely thanked the officers, convinced that he could challenge the bill in the court. That's exactly what he did, and now he awaits a court date that may be as long as a year away.
"Imagine if [local hockey team the] Canadiens won a game," Moalla told journalists. "All the fans are going to scream out of their cars. They're going to sing. Are you going to give them all tickets?"
Moalla's wife, however, was not at all surprised by the ridiculous fine.
"She told me, if it was for singing, I'd have given you a ticket for $300," Moalla said, according to CTV.
No word on whether or not Moalla had the windows down during the incident.
