US President Donald Trump in a speech on Friday said his administration has decided not to certify that Iran is in compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

"Based on the factual record I have put forward, I am announcing today, we cannot and will not make this certification," Trump stated.

The US president also noted that Iran's nuclear agreement with the international community will be terminated if the United States cannot fix it in Congress and with its allies. However, he is directing his administration "to work closely with Congress and our allies to address the deal's many serious flaws so that the Iranian regime can never threaten the world with nuclear weapons."

"The Iranian deal was the worst transactions the US has ever entered into," the president said. It gives the regime billions of dollars to support terrorists, he added. Worst of all, Iran is still able to develop elements of a nuclear program under the nuclear agreement, Donald Trump noted.

Tillerson: Trump to Stay in Iran Nuclear Deal, But Decertify Tehran's Compliance
The US president blamed Iran of multiple violations of nuclear agreements. "Iran is not living up to the spirit of the deal," Trump said.

US President Donald Trump said that the US is taking steps to ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons.

The president believes that Iran is under control of a fanatical regime. "The regime provides assistance to al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Taliban and other terrorist groups. It poses threats to the US security. It imprisons US citizens," Trump said.

"The regime violently suppresses its own citizens," Trump added. Thus, the US "will place additional sanctions on the regime to block their financing of terror."

"We must keep America safe," Donald Trump said in conclusion.
