A mysterious tomb was found on the west bank of the Nile where the burial grounds of famous ancient Egyptian pharaohs had been discovered earlier.
The excavations, aimed at identifying for whom the tomb was built and whether there is something inside it, are underway.
"The front door has been damaged by time, everyone is currently working on clearing the entrance and getting into the tomb in order to determine its age and the name of the person for whom it was built," Aziz said.
Earlier, in September, archaeologists had uncovered another millennia-old Egyptian tomb during excavations near Luxor.
The tomb is said to have belonged to a jeweler who lived over 3,500 years ago during the time of the 18th dynasty.
