World leaders and people from all over the world have joined in condemning the string of terrorist attacks that rocked the Spanish region of Catalonia on August 17.

US President Donald Trump echoed his sentiment, offering on behalf of his country to "do whatever is necessary to help" Spain.

US House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan blasted the attacks as "pure evil" while Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stated that the United States stands together with Spain in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

Marine Le Pen, former French presidential candidate and leader of French right-wing National Front (FN), urged to hunt down the terrorists responsible for this atrocity, stating that "every attack, every stolen or broken life should reinforce our determination to eradicate this barbarism."

Former French President Francois Hollande also expressed his condolences to the people of Spain, pointing out that the attack in Barcelona "reminds us of the other attacks committed in Europe with the same cowardice and demands common response to terrorism."

At the same time, the witnesses of the attack shared their accounts of these horrible events with the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, people from all walks of life around the world expressed their heartfelt sympathy for the victims of this terrible terrorist act.

On August 17 a string of terrorist attacks rocked the Spanish region of Catalonia: a van plowed through a crowd of pedestrians in the Las Ramblas area in central Barcelona in the evening, leaving 13 people dead and over 100 injured; several hours after this tragedy, another vehicle attack took place in the coastal town of Cambrils to the south.

The terrorist group known as Daesh (ISIL/ISIS) claimed responsibility for these atrocities.
