Responsibility for the van attack in Barcelona was reportedly claimed by Daesh terror group (IS, outlawed in Russia).

In a counterterrorism operation following the Cambris incident, four attack suspects were killed and one died from his wounds later.

The Catalan police said earlier on Friday, that three Moroccan nationals and a Spanish national were among those detained in relation to Thursday's attacks. The alleged Barcelona van driver is still at large.
