"Near Raqqah, 25 strikes engaged 17 ISIS [Daesh] tactical units and destroyed 37 fighting positions, two command and control nodes, two weapons caches, two vehicles, and a weapons depot," the release stated on Tuesday.

In Iraq, the coalition carried out six strikes near Al Qaim, Bashir, Kisik and Rawah. The strikes destroyed Daesh oil stills, a supply site, vehicles, a Daesh-held building and other targets.

The strikes in Iraq are conducted in support of the Iraqi government, but those in Syria are not authorized by the UN Security Council or the government of President Bashar Assad.
