China-Russia Trade Turnover in July Up 19.4% Year-on-Year

The trade turnover between China and Russia increased by 19.4 percent in July compared to the same month last year, the Chinese Customs General Administration’s data showed Tuesday.

BEIJING (Sputnik) – The overall volume of bilateral trade in July amounted to $7.02 billion, whereas in 2016 the figure totaled $5.65 billion, according to the customs administration. Chinese exports to and imports from Russia reached $3.96 billion and $3.05 billion, respectively.

From January-July 2017, the bilateral trade turnover reached $46.82 billion, demonstrating 25.5 percent increase from the same period last year.

Chinese exports have risen by 21.8 percent year-on-year over January-July, whereas import figures indicate a growth of 29.5 percent.

In 2016, the trade turnover between Beijing and Moscow increased by 2.2 percent to $69.5 billion, according to Chinese data. China’s exports to Russia grew by 7.3 percent, amounting to $37.3 billion, whereas the value of imports from Russia dropped by 3.1 percent to $32.2 billion. In turn, the Russian Federal Customs Service indicated that the trade turnover between the countries totaled $66.1 billion.
