WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump signed a bill on new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. The new restrictive measures against Moscow, targeting the Russian financial and energy sectors, have already prompted criticism from several European officials, such as German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Brigitte Zypries, who said that the new sanctions would violate the international law.

"I think that yeah, this will impact the Europeans, which should tell us that the Europeans don’t even believe the propaganda drive that’s going on about Russia now," Rohrabacher said.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday that with the adoption this law, Washington was declaring a fully-fledged trade war on Russia. At the same time, Trump himself released a statement criticizing a number of bill's provisions.

Russia has repeatedly refuted the allegations that it interfered in the US election, calling them absurd and intended to deflect public attention from other public concerns.
