Russian PM Expected to Visit Morocco on October 11 – Russian-Arab Council

Russian PM is expected to visit Morocco on October 11, a source told Sputnik on Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is expected to visit Morocco on October 11, and his visit is currently being prepared, Svetlana Kovaleva, the director of the business projects of the Russian-Arab Business Council, told Sputnik on Friday.

"Medvedev's Morocco visit on October 11 is being prepared," Kovaleva said, adding that on October 10 — 11, the Moroccan capital of Rabat will host a Russian-Moroccan business forum.

Kovaleva noted that on October 10, Russian Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev would meet with his Moroccan colleague.

"That will be a meeting of co-chairs [of the Russian-Moroccan intergovernmental commission on economic and trade cooperation]," Kovaleva explained.

The Business Council's member added that the business forum was being prepared in cooperation with the Russian Economic Development Ministry and the Russian Export Center.

In late July, Moroccan Ambassador to Moscow Abdelkader Lecheheb said that Rabat hoped to enhance the trade and economic cooperation with Russia.
