BANGKOK (Sputnik) — Lavrov's visit will take place during the celebrations of the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Thailand.

"It is noteworthy to mention that our Thai friends proposed a slogan for this year's celebrations: 'Sharing common past, building common future.' I think this is a great slogan which perfectly reflects the intentions of both sides and the new phase in our relations, which, we hope, we will bring by joint efforts to the level of strategic partnership," Barsky said.

During the visit the Russian foreign minister is expected to meet with Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai to discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian fields.
