Iraqi anti-terrorist forces found a bomb manufacturing plant on the west bank of Mosul, which was used by Daesh terrorists to produce bombs.

A source in the forces told Sputnik in an interview that the Iraqi forces detonated the plant together with all its entire bomb-making equipment.

According to the source, during an inspection of the apartment complex, the forces also found a warehouse that the terrorists used to produce explosive devices on an industrial scale.

Some of the photos retrieved show the industrial materials that the terrorists used to make bombs and mines.

“In the last few days, 40 militants surrendered to the anti-terrorist forces. They were hiding in the cellars of the residential buildings,” the source said.

According to him, dozens of terrorists surrender to the mercy of the Iraqi army every week.

"Last week there were 24 of them, the week before there were 20 people," the source said.

Earlier it was reported that despite the liberation of Mosul, danger still lurks around the city.

The militants have left a rich "legacy" of mines, booby traps, car bombs and blown-up mosques and buildings.

The Iraqi operation to recapture Mosul, the key stronghold of the Daesh terrorist group, banned in Russia and many other countries, began on October 2016.

Mosul's eastern part was liberated by Iraqi and US-led coalition forces in late January. A month later, the Iraqi forces began the operation aimed at liberating western Mosul from Daesh.

By mid-July, Iraq's Prime Minister Haider Abadi declared the liberation of Mosul, which had been held by Daesh for three years.
