MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Blockade-hit Qatar is interested in intensifying efforts on setting up Russian food supplies to the country, with the issue already discussed between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, Qatari Ambassador to Russia Fahad bin Mohammed Attiyah said Tuesday.
“The agreement [on delivering food from Russia to Qatar] has not been signed, but there has been a conversation, including between the Russian president and the Qatari emir and foreign ministers on the issue of Russia being ready to send or sell food to Qatar if Qatar asks. I had meetings in the Russian Agriculture Ministry and we certainly want to activate this point,” Attiyah told the Ekho Moskvy (Echo of Moscow) radio station.
