Two men have appeared in court in London, accused of kidnapping, raping and murdering a teenager in a suspected "honor killing." One man is accused of murder and the second is accused of kidnap.

Celine Dookhran, 19, and a 21-year-old woman were allegedly Tasered on Wednesday, July 19, before being bound and gagged and then attacked at a house in Kingston-upon-Thames, an affluent suburb of south-west London.

Miss Dookhran's body was found on Wednesday, July 19, in a fridge-freezer at the house in Coombe Lane West, which is reportedly worth £1.5 million (US$1.95 million).

Some reports suggest she had been dismembered.

The older woman's throat was slit, but she survived and managed to escape.

Mujahid Arshid, 33, has been charged with the kidnap, rape and murder of Miss Dookhran and the kidnap, rape and attempted murder of the second woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Vincent Tappu, 28, from Acton, has been charged with two counts of kidnap.

The two men appeared at Wimbledon magistrates court on Monday, July 24 after being arrested in Friday, July 21.

Binita Roscoe, prosecuting, said Miss Dookhran, who was of Indian Muslim origin, appeared to have been attacked.

"The deceased was involved in a relationship with an Arab Muslim and the family members didn't approve of this relationship because they are Indian Muslims," she said in court.

The survivor has given an account to police, said Ms. Roscoe.

"[She said] her face and mouth were covered in duct tape. Her hands were tied with cable ties and her feet were tied with rope. She believes a sock was placed in her mouth. She had heard the deceased who was in the shower screaming," said Ms. Roscoe.

Mr. Arshid, who was bearded and wearing a grey tracksuit, stood beside Mr. Tappu, who wore a black suit and white shirt.

District Judge James Henderson remanded the defendants in custody until a hearing at the Old Bailey next month.
