Trump Jr., Manafort Can Be Subpoenaed by US Judiciary Committee for Russia Probe
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Manafort's real estate transactions are already being investigated for possible money laundering and fraud by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

Manafort said through his spokesman that his private investments in real estate were common business transactions and did not violate any laws.

On June 23, it was reported that financial operations of Manafort and his son-in-law Jeffrey Yohai were probed by the FBI. Manafort’s financial transactions through Cyprus were also investigated in March by the Treasury Department as part of its anti-corruption inquiry.

Earlier in the day, in was reported that President Trump’s aides and lawyers were looking into the makeup of Mueller team for signs of conflicts of interest, scrutinizing investigators' former clients and Mueller’s ties to another ex-FBI director James Comey.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Manafort, president's son Donald Trump, Jr. and head of Hermitage Capital Management William Browder were scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 26 as witnesses in the panel’s Russia probe.

Russian officials have repeatedly denied the allegations of meddling in US elections, calling them absurd and created to deflect public opinion from pressing domestic issues.
