WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The US Air Force has awarded Sallyport Global Holdings an almost $134 million foreign military sales contract to provide base operations support and security services at Balad Air Base in Iraq, the Department of Defense said in a press release.
"Sallyport Global Holdings [of] Reston, Virginia, has been awarded a six-month service contract for a not-to-exceed amount of $133,864,963," the release said on Thursday. "This contract provides base operations support, life support and security services. "
Work on the contract will be performed over the next six months at Balad Air Base, Iraq and is expected to be completed by January 30, 2018, the Defense Department explained.
The Iraqi government requested support operations and they will be financed by foreign military sales funds, the release added.
