WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Republican Party's plan to undo Obamacare collapsed on Tuesday after three Republican Senators said they would not vote to repeal the legislation without a replacement.
"The Senate should immediately reject efforts to 'repeal' the current system and replace sometime later. This could leave millions of Americans without coverage," a joint statement said.
The 11 officials said Congress should work to make health insurance more affordable by controlling costs and stabilizing the market.
They added that both parties should work together to fix unstable insurance markets.
The statement was signed by governors of Ohio, Montana, Maryland, Louisiana, Alaska, Colorado, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia and Nevada.
