Russia's Rosoboronexport Exported $2 Bln Worth of Aviation Equipment in 2017

Russian aviation equipment exports totaled some $2 billion in January-June this year, Deputy Director General of the Rosoboronexport state intermediary Sergey Ladygin said in a press release Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In the statement Ladygin expressed hope that Rosoboronexport's orders portfolio would grow following the July 18-23 International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS in the Russian town of Zhukovsky.

"Only in the first half of 2017, the export of weapons and military equipment for the air force under our contracts amounted to about $2 billion," Ladygin said.

In 2016, Rosoboronexport delivered weaponsand military equipment worth some $13 billion to more than 50 countries.

The company's order backlog was worth about $45 billion, and that Russia was fulfilling about 5,000 international deals in the sphere of military-technical cooperation.

Rosoboronexport is the state company exporting military equipment in Russia and among the world's largest arms exporters. Its share in Russia's military exports amounts to 85 percent.
