The Ukrainian parliament speaker's idea that US military reserves might be deployed on the country's territory after Kiev and Washington sign a security agreement is risky in its nature and would hardly be realized, Russian upper house Defense and Security Committee chair Viktor Ozerov told Sputnik Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Ukrainian parliament's speaker Andriy Parubiy has said that the United States would have an opportunity to send its military reserves to Ukraine after the possible signing of a security agreement between the two countries.

“I think it is a risky idea of the Ukrainian government, one which Washington, despite the unpredictability of its foreign policy, would hardly implement,” Ozerov said.

He claimed that this idea, and also Kiev’s intentions to join NATO, are all wishful thinking.
