Russia Day Celebration: Fireworks Light up the Skies Above Red Square

Some 30,000 people gathered in Red Square to celebrate Russia Day, the annual national holiday of the Russian Federation which was established on June 12, 1992.

According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 7 million people took part in Monday Russia Day events across the country, and about half of those celebrated in Moscow.

On this day, people traditionally attend concerts and fireworks that take place throughout the country. Some Russians prefer to gather with their family and friends and celebrate the day off with a barbecue in the countryside.
