Cybersecurity Classes to Appear in Russian Schools Curriculum in 2017

Cybersecurity will appear in the Russian curriculum this year, Russian Education Minister Olga Vasilyeva told Sputnik on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

ST.PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — Russian pupils will be taught the first classes on the basics of cybersecurity as early as this year, Russian Education Minister Olga Vasilyeva told Sputnik on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum in Russia’s St. Petersburg (SPIEF).

"[The cybersecurity classes will appear] starting from this year," the minister said.

According to Vasilyeva, the ministry would also develop corresponding training programs for teachers.

SPIEF, held in Russia's second largest city between Thursday and Saturday, is a major global platform for communication between business representatives and the discussion of crucial economic issues. The Sputnik news agency is an official media partner of SPIEF.
