German Cabinet spokesman Steffen Seibert said that Angela Merkel during a phone call with US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment over Washington's decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

BERLIN (Sputnik) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a phone call with US President Donald Trump on Thursday expressed disappointment over Washington's decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, German Cabinet spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

"Chancellor Merkel in phone talks with US President Trump expressed regret about his decision. She confirmed Germany's commitment to the Paris agreement," Seibert said in his Twitter blog.
