Russia has no territorial claims to neighboring countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview published Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow's interest is in "being surrounded by prosperous, thriving countries with whom we would build partnerships in the spirit of good neighborliness," he said.

"Russia is a peaceful state. We have no territorial claims to our neighbors," Lavrov told Russia's Argumenty i Fakty weekly.

Russian officials have repeatedly said that Moscow doesn't interfere in sovereign affairs of foreign countries.
