About 500 People Evacuated Due to Fire in Bulgaria's Migrant Center

Around 500 people were evacuated as a fire broke out in Bulgaria's Harmanli reception and accommodation center, local media reported Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – There is still no information on the injured or victims in the blaze, the Nova TV broadcaster said, adding that the facility, located near the Turkish border, accommodates approximately 2,000 refugees most of whom are Afghan, Iraqi and Syrian nationals.

The broadcaster noted that a short circuit or a cigarette could have caused the fire.
