US Treasury to Borrow $1 Billion More Funds Than Anticipated

The US authorities have revised upward their borrowing projections for the January-March quarter of 2017, intending to borrow $1 billion more than was anticipated in October 2016, the Department of the Treasury announced in a press release on Monday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Treasury is expected to borrow $57 billion in net marketable debt.

"During the January-March 2017 quarter, Treasury expects to borrow $57 billion in net marketable debt, assuming an end-of-March cash balance of $100 billion," the release stated. "The borrowing estimate is $1 billion higher than announced in October 2016."
