CAS to Consider Russia Weightlifting Federation Protest Against Athletes Ban

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will consider on Thursday the lawsuit filed by the Russian Weightlifting Federation (RWF) against the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — CAS provided no details regarding the lawsuit, however, according to media reports, the court likely to hear RWF's appeal against the one-year ban of the Russian weightlifters from the international competitions.

The Russian national team in weightlifting was also banned by IWF from participating in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
