Snowbound Villages in Iranian Talysh Mountains

Subscribe
The Talysh mountains in Iran are close to the Caspian Sea, some 262 miles (430 kilometers) northeast of Tehran.

Heavy snowfall forces Iranian villagers to leave their wooden cottages during cold seasons.

In late spring, when the weather is milder, the villagers return to their cottages to do agricultural work and sometimes, to host tourists.
