Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the situation in the Middle East and the fight against terrorism with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Kremlin press service informs.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The telephone talks were held at the initiative of the Israeli side.

"The exchange of opinions on the current situation in the Middle Eastern region continues. Readiness for further active cooperation in the sphere of the fight against terrorism was confirmed," the Kremlin press service said in a statement after the talks.
