Kerry Offers Lavrov US Assistance in Investigating Amb. Karlov’s Murder

US Department of State said that John Kerry has offered Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assistance by the United States in the probe of the assassination of Russia’s ambassador to Turkey.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US Secretary of State John Kerry has offered Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assistance by the United States in the probe of the assassination of Russia’s ambassador to Turkey, the US Department of State said in a release after the two officials talked over the telephone on Tuesday.

"Secretary Kerry called Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov this morning to express his deep condolences on the assassination of Russian Ambassador Andrey Karlov yesterday in Ankara," the release stated on Tuesday. "He offered US assistance to the investigation in whatever capacity would be required."
