WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – In an interview with the Financial Times, the Egyptian leader said he was "very optimistic" about Trump’s election and asserted that cooperation between the United States and Russia would help bring stability to the Middle East.
"President-elect Trump is tackling terrorism with more resolve and seriousness and that’s exactly what’s needed now," Sisi said in the interview published online Monday.
Sisi was the first foreign leader to congratulate Trump on being elected the 45th on November 8.
