MOSCOW (Sputnik) – "We will not be terrorized," the leader of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party Jaroslaw Kaczynski stressed on Friday as quoted by TVN24, admitting, however, that "We have an unusual situation in the parliament."

The opposition lawmakers were protesting against new media restrictions that will allow only a limited number of TV station in Poland to record parliamentary sessions starting from next year.

Kaczynski called the protesters "hooligans."

Protests were also reportedly held outside the parliament building on Friday.

Warsaw police have reportedly warned the protesters that force could be used against them if they do not disperse.

Expressing opposition to the new media regulations, the staff of some Polish newspapers, internet outlets, broadcasters and radio stations decided to abstain from covering the parliament activities on Friday altogether.
