MOSCOW, (Sputnik) — The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) continues to assume in all three versions of its forecast that the sanctions against Russia over the medium term remain, CBR Governor Elvira Nabiullina said Friday.

"We did not include the provision on the lifting of sanctions in any of our three forecast variants — the risky one, the basic one, and the one with high oil prices," Nabiullina said in response to the question whether the CBR calculated the possible lifting of sanctions by the United States after the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential elections.

Since 2014, relations between Russia and the United States deteriorated amid the crisis in Ukraine. Washington and their allies have introduced several rounds of anti-Russia sanctions since Crimea became part of Russia in 2014 and over Moscow's alleged involvement in the Ukrainian conflict. Russia has repeatedly refuted the allegations, warning that the Western sanctions are counterproductive and undermine global stability.
