Rex Tillerson, nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump for the position of state secretary, is a respectable and professional person who is familiar with Russia, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, Donald Trump’s transition team confirmed his intention to nominate Tillerson, the head of ExxonMobil company, for the post.

“He is well known to the Russian representatives, he has led business cooperation actively … [He is] a respectable and a professional person,” Ushakov told reporters.
