Russian Military Registers 36 Ceasefire Violations in Syria in Past 24 Hours

The Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase registered a total of 36 violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria in the last 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The violations were registered in five Syrian provinces, according to the ministry.

"Within last 24 hours, 36 shellings performed by illegal armed formations have been registered in the provinces of Aleppo (19), Damascus (14), Latakia (1), Hama (1) and Daraa (1)," a daily bulletin posted the MoD' website stated.

Militants from the Jaysh Islam group used mortars and light weapons to attack a number of settlements in the Damascus province.

In the Latakia province, Ahrar Sham militants attacked one settlement as well as using multiple launch rocket systems and mortars to shell two settlements in the Aleppo province.

Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front, used mortars, multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, antitank guided missiles and light arms to carry out 15 attacks in the besieged city of Aleppo.

A number of violations have also been registered in the Daraa and Hama provinces, according to the bulletin.
