Rex Tillerson, who has been the Exxon Mobil CEO since 2004, could be appointed as a new US secretary of state, according to media reports.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US President-elect Donald Trump decided to appoint Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson as a new US secretary of state, NBC reported Saturday citing own sources.

Tillerson, who is now 64, has been the Exxon Mobil CEO since 2004.

According to the NBC sources, the nomination may be officially announced next week.
