Putin Expresses Condolences to Pakistan Leadership Over Passenger Plane Crash

Russian president Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the president and prime minister of Pakistan following a crash of a passenger plane in the country’s north, the Kremlin said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Wednesday, a Pakistan International Airlines’ plane carrying 47 people departed from the city of Chitral and crashed en route to Islamabad.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in relation to the deaths of passengers and crew of the Pakistan International Airlines’ plane which crashed near the city of Havelian," the statement read.
