Putin Informed of Ukraine's Plan to Hold Missile Firing Drills Near Crimea
10:16 GMT 29.11.2016 (Updated: 10:18 GMT 29.11.2016) Russian President Vladimir Putin is informed about Ukraine's plans to hold missile firing drills in Russia's airspace near Crimea in December, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian air transport agency Rosaviatsia said last week that Ukraine unilaterally decided to hold missile firing exercises near Simferopol in violation of international agreements.
"Certainly," Peskov said when asked whether the president was informed about the situation and monitoring it.

The missile drills are expected to take place on December 1-2 between 05:00 GMT and 17:00 GMT, Rosaviatsia said, adding that the launches will extend into Russia’s civil airspace and present a threat to flight safety.
Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said earlier Tuesday Moscow had not yet received a response from Kiev on the Ukrainian military’s plan to fire missiles in airspace above Crimean territorial waters in the Black Sea this week.
Sokolov said he was in talks with an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) official on the situation.
