MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The national charity’s director in charge of rehabilitation, Zahra Nurparast, said some 400 rehab centers across Iran were treating patients through drawing and painting, according to the Tehran Times daily.
In the western Hamadan and Kurdistan provinces, people were offered spiritual healing through music, which Nurparast said was most efficient in patients with mental illnesses.
Art therapy is a therapeutic technique which uses artistic self-expression to help people rediscover themselves and verbalize their inner world, including anger, anxiety and pain.
