The United State has seen the report stating that Daesh terrorist group used chemical weapons in Iraq and Syria, and is working to confirm its validity, US State Department spokesperson John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the IHS Markit information analysis company said in its latest report that Daesh used chemical weapons on at least 52 occasions since 2014 in Iraq and Syria and at least 19 times in the areas around Mosul.

“We’ve seen this report as well. I think we are still examining this particular one by IHS,” Kirby stated. “I can’t confirm the veracity of it.”
