San Antonio police in the US state of Texas have arrested a suspect in the shooting and killing of Detective Benjamin Marconi in an ambush style attack during a traffic stop, local media reported.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Police apprehended on Monday evening Otis McKane, believed to be the man caught on dash camera of the officer's car in East Bexar County, Texas news channel KSAT said.

Marconi, 50, was shot and killed Sunday morning in an ambush from a car that had pulled alongside him as he was conducting a traffic stop near the police headquarters building.

Following the incident, San Antonio police and Texas Governor Gregg Abbott asked public help in identifying and locating the crime suspect and offered a $25,000 reward for the information.

Marconi’s death was followed later Sunday by shooting incidents in which three police officers on duty in other parts of the United States — St. Louis, Missouri, Florida’s Sanibel Island, and Gladstone, Missouri — were wounded.
