MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the month, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government said it was going to spend 2 trillion yen on the Olympics but the International Olympic Committee (IOC) asked to cut the planned budget.

The draft budget is expected to be announced on November 29, when the second meeting of the four-party working group consisting of the IOC, national and local officials as well as the Organizing Committee takes place.

The 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics are scheduled to run from July 24 to August 9.
