So much so, that the UK's foreign secretary Boris Johnson also found time to bat back the possibility that Mr. Farage might take up the post as he fielded questions in the House of Commons, ruling out the prospect because there was "no vacancy."

'Shoots From the Hip'
As for advice from on former ambassador for the British government, Sir Oliver Miles, told Sputnik, "I'd be very surprised if anyone took it seriously." The former Libyan ambassador suggested the US President-elect Donald Trump, "Shoots from the hip."
"We are talking about a man who is not yet in office [Donald Trump]. He obviously shoots from the hip, it's perfectly obvious. He tweets without consulting any experts or advisers. I don't think one should take it too seriously."

Sir Oliver continues to suggest that Mr. Trump had failed to grasp the professional role of an ambassador. "It shows that Donald Trump doesn't really understand what ambassadors do," Sir Oliver told Sputnik.
"One of the main tasks it to provide a reliable and confidential channel of communication between two governments and Farage is not the man to do that," Sir Oliver said.
"I think Farage is just as likely to become American ambassador to Britain."
