Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to President of India Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with a deadly train crash, the Kremlin press service said on Sunday.

Death Toll From India Train Crash Exceeds 100
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Late on Saturday, a train derailed near the northern Indian city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, as 14 cars overturned, killing at least 100 people and injuring over 200. Following the crash, Modi said he was "anguished beyond words" on learning about the mass loss of lives.

"The Russian head of state gave words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured," ​​the Kremlin said in a statement.
